Financial Therapy

Maggie says, “We are crazy about money, plain and simple. We exhaust ourselves to get it, then we spend it, hoard it, waste it, lie about it (especially to ourselves) and fight over it. But WHY? None of this is necessary! Perhaps I can help.

Do you think your own money decisions and actions are rational common sense? In fact, reason and common sense have little or nothing to do with money behavior for most people. Emotion rules the day, along with our deepest money beliefs. Without awareness of these inner processes, many people sink into confusion, debt, anger, even depression.

This awareness is not just for the privileged few. It’s for everyone! When deeply-rooted emotions and beliefs are explored in a safe conversational space so they become balanced and clear, anyone can act wisely with money and make better decisions for a happier life.

Awareness leads to balance. Take the first step today.”

Relationship Therapy

Relating to one another is as basic as breathing. When you feel good, confident, and focused, your relationships reflect well-being.

But when you or someone you care about is upset or unhappy, or something happens which might disrupt the relationship, there’s a choice between positive exploration and growth or negative missteps with far reaching consequences.

The goal of relationship therapy is to build understanding of how you relate to others as well as how others perceive you.

Do you feel sad, confused, unconfident or angry about a relationship, perhaps all of your relationships?

Do you keep secrets from your spouse, partner or family and then feel isolated and guilty?

Therapy can help you understand your own needs and reactions, draw boundaries, and learn to express what you want and need.

The first step in therapy is to feel safe and understood. With that foundation, many things are possible!

ADHD / ADD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) describes the difficulty some children and adults have managing their attentional efforts.

For those affected, life may bring only loss: of opportunities, relationships, employment, and self-esteem, just to name a few. Frustration, and worse, is the experience of many, but it need not be that way. These days, ADD/ADHD is commonly diagnosed and treated successfully.

Assessment and a plan of care for ADD/ADHD can make a critical lifelong difference. Therapy provides a safe place to learn the way forward. Please reach out any time with your questions.

If you suspect your child may have ADD/ADHD, know that there is a genetic link factor. Consider professional evaluation for yourself, your child, and the child’s other parent. Can you imagine helping your child get more focused and structured if you yourself can not? Three times more boys are diagnosed with ADHD than girls, and symptoms persist into adulthood in as many as 60 percent of cases. As with many health concerns, early analysis and treatment is best.

Maggie says, “Mine was the first practice in Pennsylvania to use the Quotient System as a valid and reliable objective measure of distractibility, the hallmark symptom of ADHD/ADD. Several years ago the Quotient System was bought by Pearson, Inc and then discontinued because it was not a moneymaker, despite its effectiveness in accurately diagnosing ADHD/ADD. Fortunately, I’ve recently found another company, Creyos (formally Cambridge Brain Sciences) that has developed a similar protocol that provides objective data for diagnosing ADHD/ADD.”
