Get Mindful About Money: Advice from Financial Therapist Maggie Baker Ph. D.

MONEY MOMENTS are experiences and events that involve you and money. If we learn to use these moments to better understand our relationship to money, it will help save us from self-sabotaging thinking, feeling and acting. For example, you go to the grocery store with a list of what you need that fits your budget. You come home with more items NOT on the list than on the list. You can either say,”Oh, well” or you can sit and write down why you think that happened and what you can do differently next time and do it.

FIRST STEPS

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

Can you think of “money moments” you have either been frustrated by or have tried to fix? Take a minute and tell me about what happened and I will anonymously post the issue and my advice about it. As practicing psychologist and author of ”Crazy About Money” my ultimate goal is to help others understand and improve their relationship with themselves and their finances.

HOW CAN I BENEFIT?

KNOWING YOURSELF IS THE BEGINNING OF ALL WISDOM

Since we’re all emotional beings, we can’t avoid slipping into occasional craziness about money. The more mindfully you think about your money moments and think through options you have, you and your money will grow together.
